Our private car will pick you up at either the airport or from your accommodation in Reykjavík.
On our way to Knarrarholt we will stop and explore Þingvellir National Park, a Unesco World Heritage Site where the Vikings established the world’s first democratic parliament over 1000 years ago. This stunning setting features a valley caused by the meeting of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
After exploring this beautiful park we will go to Laugarvatn and take a look at Fontana, geothermal bath. Like many locations in Iceland, Laugarvatn belongs to a hot zone. In the grounds of the village, the lake and the shore of the lake, boiling waters erupt into hot springs. The hot water and springs have been used for cooking, bathing, geothermal house heating and healing steam bathing since 1929.
From there we’ll take you to the small community of Knarrarholt which will be our base for the three days. You’ll have some time to settle into your room or have a dip in the hot tub before dinner is served!
